Jill Hennessy has impressed audiences and the entertainment industry alike for decades with her proven ability to transform into the characters she plays. Recently, Hennessy starred opposite Kevin Bacon in Showtime’s City on a Hill, produced by Tom Fontana and Ben Affleck. She also appeared in the ratings blockbuster pilot episode of the FOX anthology series Accused opposite Michael Chiklis for Howard Gordon and director Michael Cuesta. Hennessy played the guest starring role of Senator Huntington opposite Kevin Costner in the pilot of Taylor Sheridan’s critically acclaimed Yellowstone.

Recently, she appeared in Sony and Marvel’s Madame Web, produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

Past credits include the title role of Jordan Cavanaugh in six seasons of Crossing Jordan (the #1 New Drama for NBC in 2001), which earned her a People’s Choice Award nomination; the notable recurring role of Jane Fellows on Madame Secretary and the series regular role of Jo on HBO’s Luck for director Michael Mann. She also starred in the CBC comedy Crawford by Trailer Park Boys creator Mile Clattenberg. Additionally, Hennessy starred opposite Jean Reno in the international series Jo. She recurred in the special event series Shots Fired for Gina Prince-Bythewood and was featured in several episodes of The Good Wife. Hennessy won a Golden Satellite Award for her performance in TNT’s Nuremberg with Alec Baldwin and Brian Cox.

Past film credits include Lymelife with Kieran Culkin and Alec Baldwin; Roadie opposite Bobby Canavale for director Michael Cuesta; Wild Hogs with John Travolta, Tim Allen and Martin Lawrence; Ron Howard’s The Paper; I Shot Andy Warhol for director Mary Herron and Autumn in New York opposite Richard Gere and Winona Ryder. Hennessy is a fan favorite for her series regular role of ADA Claire Kincaid on Law & Order, as well as her portrayal of Jackie Kennedy in Jackie, Ethel, Joan: The Women of Camelot.

Hennessy is also a wildly talented singer and played the role of Maria-Elena in the Broadway production of The Buddy Holly Story.

In 2009, Hennessy released her debut album Ghost in My Head, for which she wrote all of the music and lyrics. She performed on the Lilith Tour with Sarah McLachlan, The Indigo Girls and The Chicks and was featured on The Indigo Girls’ live album Staring Down the Brilliant Dream. Hennessy released her second album, I Do, in 2015, for which she again wrote all of the music and lyrics.

She is currently developing her one-woman show (ala Springsteen on Broadway) with a six-show/three-month Residency at The City Winery in New York City.

Hailing from Canada, Hennessy is multilingual, speaking English, Italian, French, Spanish and German.
