Kym Douglas
Kym Douglas schools us on the dangers of expired beauty products that can cause infections, irritations, and adult acne. She points out what symbols to look for on makeup containers to determine its life expectancy. Too tell if your makeup has gone rancid, look for discoloration and sniff for a foul odor. As a rule of thumb, Kym advises you to replace mascara every three months and lipstick should be disposed after one and a half years of breaking the seal. To further prevent contamination, Kym suggests using disposable makeup applicators.
Tips:
1. Keep track of makeup expiration by labeling new products with the date you first opened it.
2. Never store makeup in the bathroom. Heat and humidity promote mold and yeast growth. 3. If you notice oily beads on lipstick surface, it's time to toss. Get additional tips from lifestyle and beauty expert Kym Douglas at
