Travel tips with Joy Benedict
Travel season is on the horizon and depending on your airline you could be getting slammed by hidden fees. So today, consumer reporter Joy Benedict offers some advice on how to avoid common travel traps and offers her tips on how you can still save money on your travel plans.
Joy Benedict's Travel Tips
1. Book on an airline's website instead of through a discount site. The direct site will often have the same price and it's easier to rebook if you need to change a flight or cancel.
2. Booking hotels and cars through a discount site is often cheaper.
3. If you're renting a car, you don't need the car insurance from the rental company.
4. Tuesdays are the best day to book flights.
5. If your flight is more than an hour delayed, call the airline and they will rebook you on a different flight free of charge.
