Skip1 with Shelene Bryan

Shelene Bryan
Skip1.org founder Shelene Bryan ditched her career as a successful Hollywood producer to bring goodwill to East Africa. To teach her children selflessness, she sponsored children in need for $25 per week. Growing suspicious it may be a scam, Shelene packed her bags and headed to Africa to meet the children she had been sending money to. Meeting the little boy and girl in person has forever changed her life. She took them from their little village to the capitol of their country to get them a bed, sheets, blanket, and mosquito nets all for only $20. Shelene is hard at work inspiring more Americans to simply skip one meal, a latte, a manicure, a round of golf, or tooth fairy money to instead send that money to provide these East African children with food, education, and clothing. She tells us how she staged an elaborate gala dinner, but instead of serving food, had the image of a child on each plate that would benefit from the money raised that night.

Skip1.org encourages donors to skip one part of your regular spending and donate the money you would have spent. Start "skipping" for charity at skip1.org.

"Love, Skip, Jump" is available in stores now. Please visit shelenebryan.com.
