  • 1 cup lentils
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup rice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

Lentils and Rice - Home & Family


Sort lentils and rinse with cold water. Cook lentils in 8 cups water over medium fire for 20 minutes. Add rice, salt and pepper and cook another 15 minutes. Fry onions in olive oil. Remove onions, pour oil over rice-lentil mixture, and mix. Set until cool. Garnish with onions.
