Gingerbread with Royal Icing

A Dan Kohler recipe.
Ingredients for Gingerbread
  • 250g Butter
  • 200g Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Corn Syrup
  • 600g Flour
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 4 tsp Ground Ginger
Ingredients for Quick Royal Icing
  • 3 tbs Meringue Powder
  • 1 pound Powdered Sugar
  • 4-6 tbs Cold Water

Directions for Gingerbread

1) Melt butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup together.
2) Mix dry ingredients.
3) Add wet, hot mixture to dry. Stir/knead until it comes together. If too tight, add a touch of water.

Directions for Icing

1) Whisk dry together
2) Add water in 1tbs increments until icing comes together and is thick
