Paula Deen
Celebrity chef Paula Deen is back in the Home & Family kitchen and today she is preparing a Southern comfort dish, Kentucky hot brown casserole. This recipe is featured in Paula’s new cookbook, “The Southern Table,” which also provides tablescape ideas with every dish. After cooking the casserole, Paula takes a few questions from fans using FaceTime.

DIY Fishbowl Snowman
Paige Hemmis is taking an ordinary fish bowl and turning it into a festive holiday snowman fishbowl. Use fishbowls in ascending sizes so it replicates a snowman. She also suggests doing this DIY in place so you aren’t juggling them in place and moving the items inside around. When finished, you can always change the snowman to match your home decor.

Co-owners of “Two Blind Brothers” clothing line, Bradford and Bryon Manning sit down with Home & Family to talk about their company as well as Stargardt disease, which is a degenerative disease that causes you to lose your center vision. Both men started to lose their center vision while in kindergarten. Together, they formed a clothing line that hires sight challenged people to manufacture their clothes. They host a fashion for Home & Family to show off their latest looks.
Sweet Potato Tater Tots
Dan Kohler is in the kitchen preparing sweet potato tots with Debbie. He points out that this dish is perfect for parents with small kids because the tots are healthy and delicious. While making the dish, Dan also describes the different varieties of sweet potatoes and debunks that myth that yams are in the sweet potato family.

Felt Ball Trivets
Maria Provenzano is making felt ball trivets for items like your coffee mug, pots and a tea pot. She suggests using a doll needle for this project, making it easier to create. Maria suggests finding the felt balls at your local craft store or order in bundles online. When cleaning the trivets, just spot treat them and use soap and water for larger messes.

Disaster Preparedness for Animals
Dr. Brian Beale of Nat Geo Wild’s “Animal ER” sits down with Home & Family to give you tips on how you can prepare your animals in case disaster hits. First thing he advises you to do is chip your pet and keep all your pet’s information updated. Also make sure your pet is familiarized with car rides, in case you need to evacuate your home. You should also already have a to-go kit for your animals prepared in case of an emergency.
Sweet Potato Marshmallow Bars
Debbie is in the kitchen preparing sweet potato marshmallow bars with homemade no bake gingersnap crust. She points out that if you don’t want to make your own crust, you can substitute in crispy cookies. You an also always substitute in pumpkin or spaghetti squash for sweet potatoes, as well.
