Daniel Kountz grew up in Estacada, Oregon, a small town along the Clackamas River at the base of the Mount Hood National Forest. He first caught the acting bug in third grade when he played “Tiny Tim” in the Estacada High School production of A Christmas Carol.
Kountz is best known for his breakout role of Kal in Disney’s Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge (opposite Debbie Reynolds), a Halloween fan-favorite that continues to resonate with audiences two decades later. Fans also remember him as “Ray ‘The Hood’ Wood” dating Kirsten Dunst in the popular Lifetime movie, 15 and Pregnant. Other notable television credits include Mad Men, Ghost Whisperer, Crossing Jordan, 3rd Rock From the Sun, Just Shoot Me, and ER.
Gaming fans know Kountz from such video games as Lost Planet 3, Vegas Tales, and the massive Sony hit God of War: Ragnarok.
Kountz calls Los Angeles home with his wife, actress Kimberly J. Brown (his co-star from Halloweentown II), and their dog, Luna. Together, they continue to create original content for their social media platforms. He can next be seen co-starring with Brown again in Haul Out the Halloween on Hallmark Channel, premiering this October.
