Kara Wang is a bilingual and bicultural Chinese American actress who has returned back to Los Angeles after five years of working in Asia. She most recently was seen on the big screen in Paramount’s massive blockbuster smash Top Gun: Maverick which to date has made 1.5 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Earlier this year she also had the title lead role in Sony's The Calm Beyond which premiered to universal critical praise for her stunning performance. On the television front Wang continues to keep busy with a season long arc on the final season of Amazon's “Goliath” and has played the groundbreaking character of Sumi Liu on Freeform's “Good Trouble” for four seasons.
Wang is a huge advocate for authentic AAPI storytelling and representation in the media. She has been featured by various organizations such as Asia Society and Asian American Girl Club. She looks forward to continuing to facilitate much-needed conversations as a platform for AAPI voices and stories. Wang loves reading fantasy novels, her two dogs, and is an expert napper.
