Jake Foy was born and raised in Niagara Falls, Canada and trained at Sheridan College’s Music Theatre Performance Program just outside Toronto. His lifelong passion for the fine and performing arts has been the driving force behind his career.

Before pursuing acting professionally, Foy studied art and architecture. He later directed his peers and performed in a record six productions, including a starring role as Melchior Gabor in Spring Awakening and originating multiple roles in the first workshops and cast recordings of the Broadway-bound hit musical Come From Away.

Since graduating, Foy has built an impressive portfolio of theatrical, film and television credits. His theater credits include High School Musical: Live and The Sunshine Boys. On screen, he has appeared in Netflix’s Designated Survivor, Amazon’s Wilderness and The CW’s Reign, portraying King James.

Foy starred as bullfighting, country-singing frontman Tuff McMurray in Ride for Hallmark Channel and The CW. He also appeared in Tubi’s streaming hit Sidelined: The QB and Me opposite James Van Der Beek, Deborah Cox and Noah Beck. He stars in Hallmark Channel’s Who’s Coming for Christmas? and co-stars in Netflix’s Guarding Stars opposite Leighton Meester, Jared Padalecki and Andie MacDowell.

As a director, Foy’s approach to musical storytelling has led to collaborations with acclaimed talent on projects including Kristine & Kirstine at The Second City Toronto and Before They Were Them for CBC and CBC Gem. Foy’s 38-minute musical short film More Together, for which he also wrote the screenplay, features music and lyrics by Broadway composer Drew Gasparini. The film premiered on BroadwayHD and Prime Video and is also available through Air Canada’s in-flight entertainment system. Foy is currently developing his feature directorial debut, Their Last Semester, as well as the half-hour comedy Pinguin Lanes, which was selected by the Directors Guild of Canada for Banff's World Media Market.

Foy lives between Vancouver and Los Angeles with his husband, Nicolas, and their little dog, Daisy.
