Audiences the world over know actress Sharon Lawrence from her from multiple Emmy-nominated and SAG Award-winning portrayal of ADA Sylvia Costas Sipowitz in the long-running Emmy Award-winning series “NYPD Blue,” or from prominent roles she has played on hit the series “Shameless,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” for which she earned her fourth Emmy nomination, “Monk,” “Law and Order: SVU,” “Rizzoli & Isles” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” to name but a few. She starred in the NBC comedy “Fired Up,” and recent TV work includes roles opposite Sir Patrick Stewart in “Blunt Talk” and episodes of NBC’s “Game Of Silence.” Lawrence’s recent feature film work includes Solace, opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins, Middle of Nowhere with director Ava Duvernay, and The Bridge Partner with Beth Grant.

An accomplished stage actress, Sharon most recently performed in “The Mystery of Love and Sex” at L.A.’s Mark Taper Forum, and she played twenty different women in the Coward tribute “Love, Noel” at the Wallis in Los Angeles. At the Pasadena Playhouse she starred in Noel Coward's final play, “A Song at Twilight” and as Vivian Leigh in “Orson's Shadow,” for which she won the LA Drama Critics Circle Award. At the Taper she created the role of Maureen in the premiere of Theresa Rebeck's “Poor Behavior” and was featured in Carl Reiner's gala “Enter Laughing.” Broadway credits include “Cabaret,” “Fiddler On The Roof” and as Velma Kelly in “Chicago.” Sharon has served as the Chair of Women In Film Foundation, and she serves on the Board of Directors of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, WeForShe.org, HealTheBay.org and UNC- Chapel Hill General Alumni Association.
