Mae spent her childhood perfecting her preserves recipe — no surprise for a lifelong perfectionist.
Gus is frustrated when she can’t get past the broken train arm, venting to Nancy. Nancy becomes even more determined to see it fixed.
Jay and Mae admit they’re both behind on writing their vows. Meanwhile, Clayton generously covers the wine for Mae’s bachelorette dinner, which touches Mae deeply.
Amanda teases Sergio, dubbing him “Biscuit” for his knack at getting people out of jams — literal and figurative. Nancy asks Amanda to sign her petition to repair the train arm. But as she struggles to collect petition signatures, she realizes she needs a new approach.
Frank Jr. pitches his new chicken recipe to Christian, suggesting they replace the Cluckery’s chicken. Christian rejects the idea, citing cost.
Shawna greets a mysterious Kitchen Clash fan at the Chicken Sisters. When the guest asks to meet the chef, Amanda is floored when Sergio says Nikita is his ex-wife. Sergio confronts her, wanting to know her intentions. Nikita reveals she’s opening a restaurant and wants Sergio as head chef. Later, Sergio meets with Nikita at the Inn to discuss her proposal.
Nancy vents to Shawna, who offers advice on rallying support. Taking Shawna’s advice, Nancy makes a bold pitch directly to customers, listing all the reasons the train arm must be fixed. Signatures flood in.
Jay visits Gus for help with his vows, asking about Mae’s younger years. Gus shares Mae’s old timecards, proving she was never late. When Jay asks for something more heartfelt, Gus recalls memories tied to the dates — including Mae missing her prom because of her. When the recollections grow too heavy, they take a break.
Mae welcomes guests to her “sophisticette” bachelorette party — a seven-course dinner with wine pairings. At the party, Mae overhears guests mocking the event and sends them home. Amanda, feeling guilty for not organizing the celebration, decides to salvage the night.
Amanda gathers the remaining girls for a surprise bachelorette do-over. The new celebration kicks off with a scavenger hunt.
Frank Jr. later shows Christian that his chicken recipe would only cost two cents more per serving — Christian is impressed. Frank Jr. is keeping the secret that it’s actually the Chicken Sisters’ recipe.
Nancy proudly collects the final signatures for her petition, and Bo congratulates her.
Nikita tries to sway Sergio again, saying she’s moved on from Hugo. Sergio ultimately declines her offer. Unfortunately, from across the street, Amanda spots Sergio and Nikita in conversation and mistakes it for an intimate moment.
The scavenger hunt ends in success. Mae admits she had a wonderful time and thanks Amanda. Amanda acknowledges Mae took care of her growing up — but Amanda reminds her she wants to return the favor. Amanda stays until Mae falls asleep.
Later, Gus cleans up at the restaurant. Clayton arrives and catches her listening to “their” song. He invites her to dance, saying they should make up for lost time, and pulls her into a slow sway.
Jay returns home, feeling closer to Mae after his talk with Gus, and wraps his arms around her in bed.
Sergio deletes a “DO NOT ANSWER” contact from his phone.
Amanda messages Sergio, telling him she saw him with Nikita, that she could never compete with her, and that she’s okay with it.
