Mimi’s girls had sharp intuition, but Frannie’s girls had let theirs go rusty. Nancy, however, was done being silenced—she was ready to raise her voice.
At Gus’ bedside, Sergio keeps her company with a card game while Mae hovers, monitoring vitals. Meanwhile, Amanda learns from Frankie that she’s secretly been turned into an online sensation. Frankie created an Instagram with Amanda’s drawings, and it’s already gained 200,000 followers. Even more shocking, a New York publisher has been commenting and wants to set up a call. Amanda is stunned, but Frankie beams when her mom reacts with excitement instead of anger.
Sabrina throws herself into wedding planning, transforming an empty field into a stunning venue.
Nancy says goodbye to Bo before his church trip, and he urges her not to close the door on their relationship.
Amanda checks in on Mae—first about Gus’ condition, then about Mae herself. Mae blurts out her fear: she doesn’t think Clayton is really here for her. That fear deepens when Clayton shows up late to watch over Gus, leaving Mae disappointed.
Determined to move forward with her own life, Amanda retrieves the divorce papers she needs to serve Frank from the county clerk’s office.
Meanwhile, Nancy notices a sudden surge of customers at the Cluckery. When she confronts Rodney, he admits the chicken is “good now.” And when Nancy tries to head inside, he smirks that no Chicken Sisters are allowed.
Back in the kitchen, sparks fly between Amanda and Sergio until Frankie bursts in with breaking news about the publisher.
Suspicious, Nancy sneaks into the Cluckery for a taste—and is floored to realize they’re serving her recipe.
Wedding prep hits another snag when Sabrina tells Mae the flowers won’t arrive in time. Mae tries to mask her frustration, but Jay gently calms her nerves.
Frankie tells Amanda the publisher is coming in person, but Amanda panics about not looking presentable.
Clayton brings Gus a slice of pie, suggesting they dream of trips to Venice and beyond once she recovers. But as he continues to suggest things she can’t do or have, Gus’ intuition sends up alarms.
The publisher arrives, and Frankie ushers her in. The offer? A book of Amanda’s drawings paired with inspirational Southern-isms. Amanda can hardly believe it but is genuinely excited.
Sabrina finds relief when Gruster arrives to help with last-minute details.
Meanwhile, Nancy catches Frank red-handed. She confronts him about using her recipe and sharing it with corporate. Frank insists he’s finally standing up for himself, but Nancy is furious and losing hope he’ll ever change.
At the county clerk’s office, Mae and Jay hit a snag: Pauline misspelled Mae’s name on the marriage certificate. Embarrassed, Pauline promises to expedite the fix as she doesn’t want any role in Mimi’s curse.
Back home, Nancy presses Clayton on his care for Gus and quickly realizes he hasn’t followed instructions. She lays into him, accusing him of being the same man who once ran away when things got difficult.
Amanda and Sergio are thrilled with how the publisher meeting turned out.
Later, Nancy checks on Gus, who overheard everything. Gus is touched Nancy defended her, but admits she’s devastated.
Clayton was her first, maybe only, love, and she forgot what it felt like to love someone. Now she feels crushed.
Clayton, meanwhile, seemed to think he could waltz back into town and pick up where he left off.
At the Cluckery, Shawna serves Frank his divorce papers, leaving him stunned. She assures Amanda that all she has to do is tell the judge she doesn’t want to be married anymore, and she’ll finally be free.
Shawna also delivers better news to Mae: the flowers are on their way. But as a storm brews, Mae doubts she’s escaped the curse.
Her fears deepen when she catches Clayton slipping out of town. He insists he’ll be back, but quickly admits the truth that he’s leaving for good. He tells Mae he’s proud of her accomplishments and proud to be her dad. She corrects him coldly: he’s not her dad, just a man who once loved her mom.
As the storm intensifies, Mae decides to move the wedding setup to Mimi’s for safety.
Meanwhile, Frank goes searching for Amanda, rattled by the divorce papers.
At home, Nancy and Gus realize no tornado warning has been issued. Gus pushes Nancy to take action, reminding her she’s capable of standing on her own.
Nancy discovers the mayor has been pulled away by an emergency, leaving the system unattended. As townsfolk scramble for shelter, Nancy storms into the mayor’s office herself and sets off the tornado warning.
