Katie Findlay was a breakout star on the festival circuit in the 2019 critically acclaimed, atypical rom-com feature Straight Up from writer-director James Sweeney. Most recently, Findlay appeared and sang in multiple episodes of the NBC series “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist” and has been seen in a recurring role The CW drama series “Nancy Drew.”
Findlay also filmed the lead role in the 2019 ABC pilot “Heart of Life” after receiving rave reviews as the co-star and love-interest to Jay Baruchel in the final season of FXX’s cult comedy series “Man Seeking Woman.”
Previously Findlay guested on Jordan Peele’s reboot of “The Twilight Zone,” Syfy’s “The Magicians” and starred in the series “Lost Generation,” a musical project for digital platform Go90, utilizing their skills as a vocalist to portray an aspiring singer/songwriter, with music and lyrics written by Grammy and Tony award-winning composer Duncan Sheik.
Television audiences may know Findlay from their explosive storyline throughout the first season of Shonda Rhimes’ hit ABC series “How to Get Away with Murder” and a starring role in “The Carrie Diaries” for The CW. Findlay gained initial attention in 2011 when cast as the doomed teenager Rosie Larsen in AMC’s series “The Killing,” and was prominently featured as the face of the marketing campaign for the show’s breakthrough first season.
