Anna Holbrook grew up in Tucson, Arizona and married her high school sweetheart, Bruce. During the early years of their marriage, Bruce’s career in the Air Force took them from base to base, as he became a pilot. At their last base in Shreveport, Louisiana, Holbrook re-discovered her love of acting through work in commercials and theatre. She made the move to New York and her husband followed, after leaving the Air Force and signing on with Delta Airlines.
Shortly after arriving in New York, Holbrook landed the contract role of Sharlene Frame on the long running soap opera, “Another World.” In between and after her time on the show, she had seven guest appearances on “Law & Order” and “Law & Order: SVU, with additional roles on series including “Spin City,” “The West Wing,” “One Life to Live” and “All My Children,” as well as the feature film I Love Trouble and various stage roles.
Holbrook took an acting hiatus of almost 13 years to off “be the hub at home” for their son and daughter. After her last left the nest, she headed back to New York and delighted in the freedom of being able to take on the odd hours required by theatre and to reenter the land of television once again. Holbrook had guest appearances in series such as “Homeland,” “The Blacklist,” “Hunters,” “Blue Bloods,” “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” and “Bull.” On stage, she originated roles in Daniel’s Husband (Penguin Rep, Primary Stages, The Westside Theater as well as other favorites including Natural Life, Raising Jo, Skeletons, Measure of Doubt & Miss America’s Ugly Daughter, proving there is life after raising kids.
