Henry Ross is a prominent chef and charming culinary expert, highly respected in San Francisco’s food industry circles. Maggie Price is a beautiful, no-nonsense police detective and single mom to a 13-year old daughter. After previously joining forces to solve a murder at a five-star restaurant, Henry and Maggie are once again reunited. This time, the action unfolds at a luxurious resort where Henry is a guest presenter at a gourmet food conference and Maggie is, reluctantly, taking a much-needed vacation. When a journalist staying at the resort disappears and is found murdered, Henry and Maggie team up to untangle a complicated web of mystery – involving the journalist, a movie star and high profile fixtures of the San Francisco restaurant scene – and solve the murder. Abby Knight (Brooke Shields), a former lawyer turned proud flower shop owner is starting over after the death of her husband with the support from her father (Beau Bridges), a new business and her daughter off to college. Life is good in the peaceful town of New Chapel but when a black SUV rams her prized vintage car, she’s determined to track down the driver. She begrudgingly accepts the help of a new neighbor, the handsome and charming ex-Marine Marco Salvare (Brennan Elliott) who just bought the bar down the street. But their budding relationship is threatened when an acquaintance is murdered and Abby’s good friend is the prime suspect and it all links back to the hit and run. Caught up in a tangle of menacing phone calls, police corruption and murderous road rage, Abby must work against the clock to find the killer or the next flower arrangement might be for her own funeral.
"Diagnosis Murder," a lighthearted mystery drama, revolves around Dr. Mark Sloan (Dick Van Dyke), a teaching physician who also becomes deeply involved in crime-solving in his role as consultant to the local police department. He is a widower who lives in a beach house, where a frequent visitor is his policeman son, Steve (Barry Van Dyke). Assisting him, both medically and as occasional investigators, are Amanda Bentley (Victoria Rowell), a pathologist, and Dr. Jesse Travis (Charlie Schlatter), an enthusiastic young resident doctor. A minor irritant is Norman Briggs (Michael Tucci), the tightfisted but hapless hospital administrator.
