Crown Media United States, LLC and/or its parent companies, subsidiaries, agents or affiliated companies (collectively, “Crown Media,” “we” or “us”) owns, operates and/or provides this and other websites, applications, pages on social networks (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and other online or wireless services (each, a “Website” and collectively, the “Websites”). By accessing and/or using the Websites, you agree that both your access to and use of the Websites are governed by this Privacy Policy and the Terms of Use located at on this site (collectively, the “Privacy Policy”), as well as all applicable laws, rules and regulations and rules governing promotions.

For various purposes to provide and improve our service to you, we collect several different types of information.

Information You Provide Directly to Us. While using the Websites, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”), which may include, but is not limited to:

· Mailing Address
· Shipping Address
· Cable/Satellite/Wireless/Mobile Service Provider

· Information provided by you as you provide feedback on products or services offered on our Websites and apps
· Information relating to transactions and products or services purchased

Information We Collect Passively. While using the Websites, we may collect the following from you:

· Device information, including device model, operating system version, device date and time, unique device identifiers, mobile network information
· Geolocation of your device
· How you use our sites and mobile applications, including search terms and pages you visit

Information From Third Parties. While using the Websites, we may collect certain information about you from third parties who are Crown Media’s business partners such as online advertising networks, social media platforms, including, without limitation, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram.

Usage Data. We may also collect information how the Websites are accessed and used by you (“Usage Data”). Usage Data may include, without limitation, information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Websites that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

We may use the information we collect from you to:

  • Provide and maintain the Websites
  • Notify you about changes to the Websites
  • Gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Websites
  • Monitor the usage of our Websites
  • Detect, prevent and address technical issues
  • Provide you with news, special offers and general information about other services which we offer that are similar to those that you have already acquired, we think you might be interested in, unless you have opted not to receive such information
  • Assess your job application and communicate with you about this if you have applied for a job vacancy posted on the Websites
  • Share with third-party promotional partners if you have given us permission to do so
  • Comply with applicable legal requirements, relevant industry standards and our policies

We allow certain companies to place tracking technologies like cookies and pixels on our sites, which allow these companies to receive information about your activity on our websites. Those companies may use that data to show you more relevant advertisements and promotions. Any non-Crown Media company we work with is contractually not allowed to use this information in any other way. We value the trust you place in us, and this is one way we strive to preserve it.

You may opt out of receiving any, or all, of these communications from us by following the unsubscribe link or instructions provided in any email we send or by contacting us. Please note that participation in some activities offered on our Websites may be limited without the submission of certain Personal Data.

We may share, or we may permit third party online advertising networks, social media companies and other third party services, to collect, information about your use of our Websites so that they may play or display ads on our Websites, on other devices you may use, and on other websites, apps or services. We and our third party partners use this information to make advertisements you see online more relevant to your interests. Depending on your browser or mobile device, you may be able set your browser to delete or notify you of cookies and other tracking technology by actively managing the settings on your browser or mobile device. Please note that blocking or deleting cookies may negatively impact your experience using the Websites, as some features and services on our Websites may not work properly. You may be able to limit interest-based advertising through the settings on your mobile device by selecting “limit ad tracking” (iOS) or “opt-out of interest based ads” (Android). We may host or facilitate interactions with social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, and Instagram. You may also have the opportunity to log in through or otherwise connect your social media account. When you interact with social media through the Websites, we will receive information about you from the social media service.

In addition, the social media service may set their own cookies and collect information about your use of the Websites, including your IP address or other device identifiers, and which pages you visit on the Websites. These social media platforms may be able to collect certain information on your visits to the Websites regardless of whether or not you affirmatively interact with the feature and whether or not you are logged into (or have) an account with the social media platform. If you are logged out or do not have an account and visit a page with a social plug-in, your browser sends a more limited set of information. Like other sites, the social media platform will receive information about the webpage you are visiting, the date and time of your visit, and other browser-related information. They may use that information to help them improve their products or for other purposes set forth in their privacy policy. We may also receive information about you if other users of social media give us access to their profiles and you are one of their connections or "friends."

The information we collect is subject to this Privacy Policy. The information collected and stored by the third party remains subject to the third party’s privacy practices, including, without limitation, whether the third party continues to share information with us, the types of information shared, and your choices with regard to what is visible to others on that third-party website or service. The third party may allow you to remove the application or feature, in which case we will no longer collect information about you through the application or feature but may retain the information previously collected.

If you choose to post information to a third party platform, that information may be public.

You acknowledge that, if you choose to post on a third-party platform any information about your viewership of our audio visual materials, or by liking or sharing any such content, the Video Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (18 U.S.C. § 2710) (or any similar state law) does not apply. However, to the extent it does apply in any manner, you are providing your informed, written consent to the disclosure of that information pursuant to the Video Privacy Protection Act.

Like most websites and online services, we automatically collect certain types of usage information when you visit our Websites, read our emails, or otherwise engage with us. We typically collect this information through a variety of tracking technologies, including cookies, web beacons, embedded scripts, location-identifying technologies, and similar technology. These tracking technologies collect information such as how you use the Websites, information about your browser and online usage patterns, information about the devices you use to access the Websites and your geographical location data. We may link your various devices so that content you see on one device can result in relevant advertising and content displayed on another device, and so that we may recognize and contact you on the various devices you may use. We will employ reasonable precautions to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. Such measures may include the use of password protection and restricting access to personal information to those with a legitimate purpose in receiving the information. We take reasonable steps to accommodate privacy preferences and help ensure that the personal information is reliable for its intended use, accurate, complete and current.

While we take reasonable precautions against possible security breaches of our Websites and records no website or Internet transmission is completely secure and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or other breaches will never occur.

When subscribing to our email newsletters or when entering information on our Websites in connection with an online sweepstakes, contest, survey, registration, product or service, we ask for users to state their age and/or birth date. We rely on our users to be truthful in responding to these questions. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. We encourage users under the age of 18 not to submit personal information to us. The age of eligibility may be greater than 18 years of age when entering an online contest or sweepstakes as stated in the official rules of each such contest or sweepstakes.

Information posted to message boards and chat areas is available to the general public. Please use caution when posting any such information. Users under the age of 18 should be particularly careful not to provide any personally identifying information while using chat rooms or message boards. Users of chat areas and message boards must follow acceptable standards of behavior when posting messages online. We reserve the right to, but is not obligated to, refuse or delete any content that in our sole discretion is considered inappropriate.

Our Websites contain links to third party sites other than our own. Those sites may not follow the same privacy policy as us. Such links may be to advertisers, content providers or partners who may use our logo and/or style as a result of a co-branding agreement. These sites may send their own cookies to you and may collect information and use it in a way inconsistent with this Privacy Policy. We do not control the content that appears on these third party sites. The use of any information or materials that you may access at these third party sites is purely voluntary. You should not rely on their content without independent and thorough review of the accuracy, completeness, effectiveness, timeliness and correct sequencing. When you click a link to such third party sites from our Websites you should read the applicable privacy policy to determine how they will use any information they collect from you. These third party sites may also refer to specific commercial products, processes, or services by trade name, trademark, service mark, manufacturer or otherwise. Unless we have provided explicit authority, such references in no way indicate our endorsement, recommendation or preference.


Effective January 1, 2020, if you are a California resident, you have expanded rights regarding the collection and disclosure of information about yourself as part of the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (CCPA).

Only you or your authorized representative may make these requests. You may make requests for data disclosure or portability no more than twice in a 12-month period. In your request, you must provide enough information to allow us to verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information, or their authorized representative. You must also describe your request with enough detail so that we can understand, evaluate and respond to it. We can’t respond to your request if we can’t verify your identity. Making such a request does not require you to create an account with us, and we will only use the information you provide in a request to verify your identity. Authorized representatives must provide a signed, written permission to make such requests or power of attorney. You may also make a request on behalf of your minor child.

Information We Collect. Below are the categories and examples of information we collect, along with how we use that information. Unless otherwise noted, we collect this information from our users, customers and service providers. Unless otherwise noted, we use this information to enable use of our sites, services and products; to communicate with you; to understand how users interact with our site; and to improve our products and services. Unless otherwise noted, we may share this information with our service providers.

  • Identifiers such as name, mailing address, IP address, email address or account name. We may generate these identifiers internally, such as a Crown Rewards membership number.
  • Personal information categories such as name, signature, address or phone number. (Information in this category may overlap with other categories.)
  • Protected classification characteristics including age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, marital status, and veteran/military status.
  • Internet/network activity, such as browsing history, search history, banners you click, and pages you visit on our site.
  • Commercial information such as what you purchase or consider purchasing from us and other requests you make. This information allows us to complete those transactions and deliver your orders in a timely manner.
  • Geolocation data, such as the location of your computer or mobile device. This helps us show you the nearest stores to your location.
  • Sensory data such as audio, electronic, visual or similar information.
  • Inferences drawn from other personal information may be generated internally. These inferences may include preferences, characteristics, predispositions and behaviors, and are used to help us provide you more relevant products and services and provide a better experience on our website and apps. We do not share this information.

We will not collect additional categories of personal information or use it in materially different purposes without providing you notice. Your personal information may be shared with third parties for business purpose (“service providers”). Service providers are required to keep the personal information confidential and not use it for any purpose other than what is specified in what is outlined in our contract with them.

Right to Know. In accordance with the CCPA, you have the right to know what information we have collected about you. You can request us to disclose this personal information no more than twice in a 12-month period. This information will be provided in an accessible format that allows you to transmit your data from one entity to another.

Right to Delete. In accordance with the CCPA, you have the right to request that we delete the information we have about you. Crown Media offers several services that require certain information in order to work. Deleting your information can affect your ability to:

  • Earn exclusive offers and coupons
  • Maintain membership to Crown Rewards and Keepsake Ornament Club
  • Access services like Hallmark Movies Now and Hallmark eCards
  • Get the inside scoop on the exciting new surprises Crown Media is working on

We will attempt to complete your request within 45 days. If we require more time (up to 90 days) we’ll let you know this, and the reason why, in writing. To proceed, visit Customer Care or call 1-877-203-2262 to provide the information we need to validate your request.

Do Not Sell. In accordance with the CCPA, if you are 16 years or older, you have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information. Consumers who we know are under 16 are already opted-out of this sale of information, unless they have specifically exercised their right to opt-in. A parent or guardian must provide an opt-in for consumers less than 13.

Crown Media does not now, nor have we in the past, sell consumer information to third parties for financial gain. What we sometimes do is to track your device by sending non-identifying information to partners, who then use it to provide you relevant marketing messages. When we do this, your personal information (name, phone number, etc.) is not shared with them.

Under the CCPA, sharing data for online advertising like this may be considered a “sale” of information, and we are required to allow you to opt out of selling your information. To help you manage the tracking of your information, including browsing history and targeted marketing efforts, you can take action by opting out of cookies and device ID tracking. Please read the “Use of Information We Collect” section of the Privacy Policy for more information on how you can manage your privacy via third parties. You can also manage privacy options directly in your device preferences or settings.

Other California Privacy Rights. California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section 1798.83, also known as S.B. 27) allows customers to opt out of having your personal information shared for direct marketing purposes. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year. We reserve our right not to respond to requests submitted to locations other than those specified above.

Nevada S.B. 220 provides consumers with the ability to opt out of the sale of their personal information. We do not sell your personal information as defined in S.B. 220. However, should our practices change in the future and you wish to opt out, your request must be submitted to We will record your request and avoid selling your information at any point in the future.

This Privacy Policy shall operate to the fullest extent permitted by law. If any provision or part of this Privacy Policy is held unlawful, void or unenforceable it shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of this Privacy Policy.
