Emily meets Brooke at the diner. Brooke is thrilled Emily joined The Belles and opens up after some wine, revealing she doesn’t understand why Debbie is always the soloist. When Emily asks about Clara, Brooke insists Clara loved Adam and there were no secrets. After Brooke leaves, Sue tells Emily Brooke had a shot at being the soloist last summer but failed. Emily reflects on her hunt for Kaimera and wishes she could move on from it.

Sam visits Emily with an update: the car in the yard had Clara’s blood and hair on the hood and was Debbie’s old one.. Adam had likely found it, leading to his death. The car had recently been cleaned. Adam died of blunt force trauma, but he did have a large amount of sleeping pills in his system.

When Adam asks Emily about her hand, Vera’s hand injury suddenly makes Emily suspicious.

Sam and Emily head to The Belles’ practice and ask Vera to remove her bandage, revealing a matching cut to Emily. Sam takes Vera to the station. During interrogation, Vera breaks down, admitting she killed Adam. When Adam told her he found the car, she sedated him to clean her fingerprints off the vehicle. But when he showed up bloody, she panicked and hit him with a tire iron, killing him.

However, they realize Adam was the one who tried to kill Debbie with the tainted throat spray—his way of seeking revenge. One mystery remains: the electrical diagram found at Adam’s house.
