Emily leaves Violet at the shop to check out the town carolers. While Emily is watching, a rooftop decoration suddenly falls, pinning one of the carolers to the ground.

That night, Emily dreams again about the secret logo on her phone and the building explosion. Determined to focus, she opens her secret briefcase and pulls out old photos. She reminds herself to stay on track—especially now that her black-market connection, Famous Ray, has secured her an encryption device to keep her invisible online. She uses a program she built to search the deep web for any trace of Kaimera, the person responsible for her world falling apart. She just needs to be patient.

At the shop, Brooke asks if she can post a flyer in the window for The Belles' concert. Emily asks about the choir, and Brooke says they’re looking for new members. The group has had its share of bad luck—Clara was killed in a hit-and-run, and just yesterday, Debbie Hannigan was nearly crushed by a falling Christmas sled. Brooke encourages Emily to join the group. Emily’s investigative instincts suspect something more than bad luck.

At the accident site, Emily runs into Sam, who thinks the mishap was due to faulty installation. Emily disagrees, noting that the Christmas roof sled should’ve withstood the elements—perhaps it was sabotage.

Emily gives Violet a shop key and a raise before rushing off to audition for The Belles at the Fletcher Community Center. Emily sings “Silent Night,” and Vera welcomes her into the group. After the lukewarm reception, Emily senses something is off and decides to stick around to investigate further.

Back home, Emily looks up Clara Jameson and discovers her husband Adam owns the local junk removal company. Sam drops by the shop for contact info on a Christmas prop company. When Emily asks about Clara’s death, Sam says he wasn’t on the case and has no leads. Emily mentions she joined The Belles and teases him about playing on the town hockey team.

Debbie stops by to pick up treats and tells Emily that Clara was a vocal coach with little spare time and had planned to leave The Belles just before her death. Later, at choir practice, Vera laments Clara’s absence, but Brooke volunteers for the solo, which irritates Debbie. Meanwhile, Violet is picked up from the shop by her friend Nicki’s brother.

After practice, Emily talks to Vance about the competition. He admits they’re doomed without Clara and reveals that jealousy, especially from Debbie, drove her away. Debbie schedules an early practice, and Emily realizes that both women who suffered “accidents” were lead vocalists.

Emily urges Sam to keep an open mind about the incidents, suggesting they might be connected to Clara’s death. He agrees to take another look. Later, at a diner, Emily tells June she joined The Belles. A former member overhears and warns Emily to stay away, calling them backstabbers. Emily starts to understand what she means.

Later, Emily fakes needing junk removed from her shop so she can question Adam about Clara. He stuns her by claiming The Belles murdered Clara. Unsure if he has proof or is just grieving, Emily is left with more questions. At home, she gets a hit on Kaimera in a dark net forum, but the trail goes cold again.

Violet invites Emily to Sam’s hockey game, but Emily has choir practice. Violet plans to take lots of video, which worries Emily—she doesn’t need too many videos of herself floating around. Meanwhile, Violet frantically searches her backpack for something she’s lost.

At practice, Emily notices Vance and Adam in a heated argument. Adam dismisses it as a difference of opinion and says he’s doing the electrical setup for the tree lighting ceremony near her shop so he can pick up her junk. Inside Emily asks Vance about the argument and spots his prison tattoo. Meanwhile, Debbie misplaces her bag but later finds it, confused about where she left it.

Violet panics when she can’t find the shop key and fears Emily will never trust her again.

During rehearsal, Debbie sprays her throat spray before singing but soon starts struggling to breathe and collapses. Emily searches for her epi-pen, but it’s missing. Paramedics arrive just in time. At the hospital, Sam starts to agree these incidents might not be accidents after all.

Later, Adam picks up the junk from the shop and tells Emily that Clara had been offered an audition with the state’s top choir before her death. Only Debbie knew about the audition. Adam warns Emily to get out while she can. He reveals that Clara found out Debbie had been privately funding The Belles for years, filling the gaps in public funding.

Emily brings coffee to the tree lighting venue. Vera reminisces about Clara but says Adam’s constant attacks on The Belles have become too much. Sam tells Emily that Debbie’s throat spray tested positive for bee pollen—proof of attempted murder. He asks Emily to keep an eye on Debbie and hands her a police file, oddly suspecting Debbie staged the attack.

Debbie later brings Emily flowers to thank her for saving her life. Debbie mentions an inheritance allowed her to retire and that the choir is her only passion. She also complains about rising costs, admitting she doesn’t even own a car anymore—she just left it out with a sign for someone to take it. Debbie reveals that Adam once showed up drunk at her house, demanding to know who Clara was having an affair with. Debbie hints that if Clara was unfaithful, it wasn’t with someone from The Belles.

Emily and Sam head to Adam’s house to question him, but he’s not home. On their way back to town, they spot his abandoned truck off the road with blood on the wheel. They know they must find him fast—he won’t survive the freezing night.
