Torrey DeVitto is an actress, advocate, philanthropist and producer, who recently wrapped her incredible six-season run as Natalie Manning on NBC’s “Chicago Med.” Outside of her acting work, DeVitto’s mission is to grant access and bring knowledge of wellness, spirituality, and philanthropy to as many people as possible.

Born and raised in Huntington, New York, to Mary and Liberty DeVitto, she was surrounded by the entertainment industry from the moment she was born. For 28 years, her father played drums for Billy Joel and she spent most of her early years on the road with her parents. By the time DeVitto could walk, her heart was in the music and acting world. She began violin lessons at age six and was in the fourth grade when she had already earned her place as the fourth chair violinist in a New York high school orchestra. DeVitto later studied dance with the Kings Park Dance Center in New York and started working in commercials and modeling by 15. While she also had an interest in spirituality as a tween, it was in her 20s when DeVitto began to dive into learning about the spiritual world as well.

She is a yogi and is certified in reiki and the akashic records by her teachers Janet Raftis and Christina Cross. She applies Transcendental Meditation to her daily routine, consistently works with an energy healer, and has a passion for crystal healing as well. Recently, she also began an astrology course, sharing with amusement that her “Gemini personality is really coming through these days.”

Outside of her spiritual interests, DeVitto also brings an extra level of consciousness to all aspects of her holistic lifestyle. As an advocate for women’s safety, health and rights, she is working on the board of directors with SafeBAE, is a spokesperson and ambassador for the NHPCO and works with young women in juvenile detention centers. Cycling through veganism and vegetarianism for the past 13 years, she is also an advocate for animals and regularly supports organizations such as PETA, The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), and PAWS adoption in Chicago. When it comes to her beauty and fashion routine, DeVitto makes sure to use cruelty-free makeup and wear vegan materials. She also tries her best to shop sustainably and live as eco-consciously as possible, even requiring hair and makeup artists on set to use cruelty free products.

On the acting front, DeVitto has numerous credits across television and film in her storied career. She may be best known for her role in The CW television series “Vampire Diaries” as Meredith Fell, as well as her popular recurring role as Melissa on ABC Family’s hit show, “Pretty Little Liars.” DeVitto has also starred in the psychological thriller “Amy Makes Three,” Lifetime’s popular drama “Army Wives” and in her chilling role as Carrie on The CW drama series “One Tree Hill.” Additional credits include “Scrubs,” “Dawson’s Creek,” “Jack & Bobby,” “The King of Queens,” “Drake & Josh,” “CSI: Miami” and “Castle,” as well as feature films including The Rite with Anthony Hopkins, Green Flash, Killer Movie and Evidence, starring Stephen Moyer.

Also staying true to her love of music, throughout the years she has played violin at a show with the Tommy Davidson Band, was featured on Raphael Saadiq’s, “Ray Ray,” and Stevie Nicks’ album, In Your Dreams, and performed several times with her father on stage to standing ovations. Recently, DeVitto and her father performed a song called “You’ve Been Through” for a PSA for SAMHSA, talking about the dangers of drugs and alcohol.

DeVitto most recently starred in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries original “Rip in Time,” opposite Niall Matter as well as well as the upcoming film Skelly, opposite Brian Cox and John Palladino.

DeVitto currently splits her time between Chicago and her farm in Michigan, doting on her dogs Beau and Homie.
