The Venezuelan-born actor and singer splits his time between Los Angeles, New York, Miami and Atlanta where he shoots his current show, the CW reboot of “DYNASTY.” Rafael is also known for his roles in FOX’s “Empire” and ABC’s “When We Rise.”
Rafael holds a BFA in music from the University of Tampa where he simultaneously ventured into theater and sports. He participated in
“The Actor’s Gym’ in Caracas, Venezuela with Matilda Corral from the Actor’s Studio in NYC, and the 5-week Summer Performance Program at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
In 2009 Rafael moved to Miami, FL where he furthered his acting studies and began his career in Nickelodeon Latin America in the international hit show “Grachi.”
Rafael decided to crossover to the English-speaking market and moved to LA in 2013, where he continued to study acting at Ivanna Chubbuck Acting studio and Berg Studios. His break into the industry came with “Empire” where he acted alongside Taraji P. Henson, Terrance Howard and Gabourey Sidibe, followed by “When We Rise” where he played opposite Guy Pearce. Rafael also guest-starred in American Horror Story: Cult.
