Emily Arlook is an accomplished actress, writer, and producer. She can currently be seen starring in the breakout Netflix series “Nobody Wants This” opposite Kristen Bell and Adam Brody.
Arlook is also well known for starring as a series lead opposite Yara Shahidi on four seasons of Freeform's hit series “Grown-ish” -- the spin-off of ABC's “Black-ish.” The Emmy and NAACP nominated series aptly captures the highs, lows, and in-betweens of young adulthood as Emily plays Shahidi's brash, fearless best friend Nomi.
She can also be seen in Netflix's “You People” from Kenya Barris and Jonah Hill, opposite Hill and Eddie Murphy. The film offers a comedic yet poignant take on how families reckon with modern love amid culture clashes, societal expectations and generational differences. Arlook also starred as Pete Davidson’s love interest in the indie feature “Big Time Adolescence” from Neon/Hulu. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews.
Emily also produced the documentary “A Swim Lesson,” which made its premiere earlier this year at the Telluride Film Festival and is being co-released by the Los Angeles Times and PBS later this fall.
