Tanner Novlan was born and raised on his family’s wheat and canola farm in the small town of Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan, Canada. At 21, he moved to Los Angeles and was scouted to print model for brands such as Guess and Tommy Hilfiger. While modeling he found an interest in television and film. Novlan is known for his portrayal of Dr. John “Finn” Finnegan on “The Bold and the Beautiful.” His other credits include The CW’s “Roswell, New Mexico,” ABC’s “Modern Family,” Hulu’s “Letterkenny,” TNT’s “Rizzoli and Isles,” FOX’s “Bones” and NBC’s “The Parenthood.” Novlan has appeared in the films Flatbush Luck, Fallen Stars and Ice: The Movie. He is also known for his role as Bad Actor in the very funny and ubiquitous Liberty Mutual commercial.
Once or twice a week, Novlan plays hockey with a Los Angeles group informally called "Bad Boys Skate,” a collection of hockey enthusiasts.
Novlan has been married to actress Kayla Ewell since 2015. They share a daughter, Poppy and a son, Jones.
