Katie Cassidy is an American actress, producer, writer and director. Cassidy became a notable scream queen after starring in the horror films When a Stranger Calls, as Kelli Presley in Black Christmas and as Ruby in the third season of the horror series “Supernatural.”
Following a pivotal role in the cult action film Taken, Cassidy played leading roles in the mystery horror series “Harper’s Island,” and the remake of the drama series “Melrose Place.” She starred as Kris Fowler in the slasher film remake A Nightmare on Elm Street and had a recurring role as Juliet Sharp during the fourth season of the hit teen drama “Gossip Girl.” Another notable film many recognize her from is Monte Carlo, with co-star Selena Gomez.
Cassidy had her breakthrough in 2012, after being cast as Laurel Lance/Black Canary, on The CW television series “Arrow.” She has reprised her role in the Arrowverse series “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow,” as well as voiced the character in the animated web series “Vixen.”
Following her character’s death in season four of “Arrow,” Cassidy began playing Laurel Lance/Black Siren, an antagonistic version of the character from a parallel universe, originating on “The Flash” and continuing to “Arrow,” spending almost a decade as a starlet for The CW.
In 2020, she executive produced and co-starred in the feature film I Love Us, directed by Danny A. Abeckaser, which made its U.S. theater debut in 2021, and currently streams internationally. Most recently, Cassidy starred in Agent Game, alongside Dermot Mulroney, and just filmed the feature Fallout, alongside Kate Bosworth and Tyrese Gibson.
As founder of KEAC Productions, she currently has a variety of film projects, shorts and features in development for which she serves as writer, producer and director. Next up is the short America’s Next Best President, which Cassidy wrote and directed to be released in 2024 timed to the U.S. presidential election. Cassidy is also active in the NFT space, having released two NFT collections that sold out upon release and are currently available for trading.
