Neal Bledsoe is an actor and writer who had the good sense to be born in Toronto and was named after the Beat Generation hero, Neal Cassady. He grew up in Seattle, where he’s been a Seahawks fan longer than it’s been fashionable, has almost given up on the Mariners and cries a little each day for the Sonics, who no longer exist.
He was last seen on Hallmark Channel playing Robert Marley opposite Danica McKellar in 2017’s “Coming Home for Christmas.” In addition to being an Old Spice Man – because, why not? – he is perhaps best known for his television work on such shows like “Shameless,” “Man in the High Castle,” Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “The Mysteries of Laura.” Bledsoe won best actor awards for his work in several independent films, most recently in A Soldier’s Revenge opposite Val Kilmer, where he undoubtedly quoted every line from Tombstone to his childhood hero.
He’s also an accomplished stage actor and has appeared on Broadway alongside Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons, who told him that he “should play Hamlet.” He has not played Hamlet, but recently did play the title role in Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra. Viewers might have read his Sports Illustrated series for “The Delicate Moron” about his attempt to play professional football with the LA KISS, the Arena League team once owned by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. Beyond that, Bledsoe has published work in Men’s Health and several fine literary journals no one ever reads. He splits his time between New York and Los Angeles and once owned a dog named Pirate, who probably has more Instagram followers that most people.
