Born in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, Bateman started karate at age four in the hope of becoming a Ninja Turtle. He went on to win four Martial Arts World Titles. After graduation from Capilano University in Vancouver at age 20, Bateman opened his own karate school. After three years, he closed the school to pursue his passion for acting.
Soon after, Bateman landed his first major role starring alongside Rutger Hauer in Hobo with a Shotgun. Most recently, he starred with Eric Roberts in The Perception, and in The
Matchmaker’s Playbook for Passionflix. Other films include Apple of My Eye, with Burt
Reynolds, and Total Frat Movie.
Bateman starred in UPtv’s “Winter Wedding” and Lifetime’s “The Hazing Secret.” He starred in the Canadian television series “Originals,” and has appeared in episodes of “Mr. D,” “My Babysitter’s a Vampire” and “The Listener.” He is also known for his international modelling work with Abercrombie & Fitch, Dsquared, Fila, Jockey and Calvin Klein.
