Actress Rachel Blanchard is best known for playing the part of Cher Horowitz on the television series “Clueless.” Her career was launched with a part in a McDonald's commercial and as an eight-year-old on the Canadian children's show “The Kids of Degrassi Street”, in which she played Melanie Schlegel.
Blanchard went on to co-star in "Alex: The Life of a Child", which was filmed in Canada. Several Canadian-produced efforts followed. She played the daughter of a microbiologist as a regular on the syndicated series "War of the Worlds" and appeared as a co-ed on the prep school comedy-drama "Criss Cross". Additional television work includes the Nickelodeon series "Are You Afraid of the Dark?” and the WB’s beloved television series “7th Heaven.”
Blanchard’s Canadian TV-movie "On My Own" received a US theatrical run and she also played a young flyer in "Iron Eagle IV", Rowena in the Canadian TV-movie "Young Ivanhoe" and had a featured role in “The Rage: Carrie 2”.
In the past decade, Blanchard has starred in several comedies including “Road Trip”, “Sugar & Spice” and “Without a Paddle,” she starred opposite Kevin Bacon and Colin Firth in “Where the Truth Lies” and opposite Samuel L. Jackson in the thriller “Snakes on a Plane”.
