About The Bob Newhart Show

"The Bob Newhart Show" follows mild-mannered psychologist Bob Hartley, who lives in a Chicago high-rise with his younger wife Emily, an elementary school teacher. Bob divides his time equally between happy domesticity and time at the office, where he employs feisty and frequently lovelorn receptionist Carol. Carol also works for Jerry, a bachelor dentist and Bob's best friend, who talks Bob into various adventures (and misadventures). Bob's work as a psychologist brings him into contact with a number of clients, and their neuroses add both laughter and pathos to this Emmy-nominated show.

Over the years, dozens of familiar names and faces guest-starred on the series, including Sharon Gless, Henry Winkler, Raul Julia, Teri Garr, Penny Marshall, Fred Willard and more. Created by David Davis and Lorenzo Music, the show stars Bob Newhart, Suzanne Pleshette, Peter Bonerz, Bill Daily, and Marica Wallace.
