ANGEL
ADOPTER: Jan Nash

LOCATION: Duluth, MN

SHELTER: Animal Allies Humane Society

WHY ANGEL IS SO SPECIAL:
I adopted Angel in May 2010. On 9/21/11, she woke me up in the middle of the night to go out which she doesn't usually do. When we got out, she ran to a man lying in our parking lot. It was 38 degrees outside and he was freezing! I called 911, put my coat over him, and Angel stayed right by him until the paramedics arrived. I later found out that he'd had a major heart attack! I have MS and live on the 11th floor so it's amazing that she knew something was wrong. She saved him, she's his hero!!

IF YOUR PET COULD TALK, WHAT WOULD HE OR SHE TELL US ABOUT YOU?:
I was a stray dog, starving, abused, and SCARED! A lady came in and took me for a walk. She took me home and showed me what real love is. She has MS so I make sure she gets plenty of rest by getting on the bed and whining when she's tired. She'll never hurt me, she keeps me clean, warm, fed, exercised, and we play a lot! We love each other, and we'll take care of each other from now on. Now I'm the happiest dog in the building with lots of friends, both human and animal! I'll never have to be afraid again!

OTTO
ADOPTER: Joanne Jaulus

LOCATION: San Rafael, CA

SHELTER: Second Chance Rescue

WHY OTTO IS SO SPECIAL:
Otto is a big, black boy on his third chance. We fostered him at 8 months when he was rescued from a shelter. After temperment testing, it was determined that Otto was an abuse victim suffering from fear aggression. I knew from looking in his eyes that he could be brought back, and that he'd be worth the time it took. Family dog obedience classes and lots of love made all the difference for this "momma's boy".

IF YOUR PET COULD TALK, WHAT WOULD HE OR SHE TELL US ABOUT YOU?:
I don't know why my first people were so mean to me, but I'm sure glad I landed in this family. They seem to understand that inside my 90 pound body beats the heart of a lapdog.
