Today on Marie

Heather McDonald
From “Chelsea Lately,” writer and comedian Heather McDonald stops by Marie and talks about her latest book "My Inappropriate Life," and how she balances a thriving career with motherhood. While her life is very traditional, with children in Catholic school and a home next door to her parents, Heather's day job is anything but "appropriate"! She also shares her appreciation for her husband, who has learned to roll with the punches of being a part of Heather's comedy act. Later, Heather also gives a special look at her infamous impersonations of celebrities that she does on the fake reality show “After Lately,” including Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Aniston, and Celine Dion.

Dr. Mary Neal
Next, orthopedic surgeon and author of the New York Times Bestseller, "To Heaven and Back: A Doctor’s Extraordinary Account of Her Death," Dr. Mary Neal shares her extraordinary story and the impact it has made on her views on science, medicine and faith. While kayaking in Chile fourteen years ago, Dr. Neal drowned and had an out-of-body, near-death experience. It changed her life forever, and despite the fact that Mary did not want to return to her body during her experience, she was given reasons to do so, one of which was to tell her story of the afterlife to others.

Wes Brown
Lastly, Wes Brown, from “Deception” and the star of Hallmark Movie Channel’s “Shadow on the Mesa,” discusses his role in the film as a bounty hunter in search of his mother’s murderer and how his southern roots helped him prepare for the role. A southern boy from Baton Rouge, Wes was very comfortable during the shooting of the Western-themed movie and loved spending so much time outdoors. His advice for young people looking to get involved in show business: to have a great support system of family and friends, and to never quit.
