Today on Marie
Lynda Carter
Marie makes a grand entrance, flying in on Wonder Woman's invisible plane! Upon landing, she is joined by none other than Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter. The iconic super hero discusses how she never aimed for the character to be portrayed as a sex symbol, but rather viewed as a strong female figure. Raised in Arizona, Lynda's upbringing was culturally and musically rich. She pursued a career in music at the age of 14 and later moved to Los Angeles to study acting. Out with a new album, Lynda is gearing up for shows at the Kennedy Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Following the dissolution of her first marriage, it became apparent to Lynda that she had inherited the alcoholic gene. Her current husband encouraged her to get help at Father Martin's Ashley recovery center in Maryland, where she now has served on the board for 10 years. On another solemn note, Lynda's mother recently passed away at the age of 89. She speaks about the legacy her dear mom leaves behind.
