Dr. Andrew Ordon's Skin Care Remedies
#1 Dry, Rough Elbows
Honey is a humectant meaning it traps moisture and seals it in. you know the consistency of honey, it almost forms a wrap on the skin. Elbows and knees when they become dry, it can be tough to treat. If you can do it in the privacy of your home and take the time to let it sit on you skin, you'll see improvement. Let it sit or wrap it in saran wrap. You can do a quick treatment for 15-20 minutes without the wrap and then wash it off. You'll get a little exfoliation at the same time. If you wrap it with saran wrap, you can leave it on for as long as you want.
Medium, Fatty Chain Acid restore skin barrier. The oil, it helps revitalize the skin. If you have mild eczema, give the coconut oil a try but for more severe cases, see your doctor. Same application as the honey…you can slather it on and then wash it off or you can use saran wrap and let it sit for a little longer. You can't overdose on any of these treatments. All these things are great for you and your skin but we also want to add them to your diet as well. This way you are taking care of yourself from the inside out. Rub peel or apply to face in strips & let sit 10-15 min Natural Alpha-Hydroxy Acids, exfoliate & brighten. These are active ingredient in a number of skin care products. This helps with brown spots. It helps reduce the build-up of keratin cells in the skin. Enzymes most concentrated in peel. They also have a peeling action…similar to one I would do in the office. The peel of the papaya works well. You can use the straight pulp or if you have the peel, there's a little bit of pulp on it and you can just apply it like you would on a spa day and rub it on the problem areas you have. One treatment won't cure you. You have to commit to using these treatments about 3-5 times a week to see results. Vitamins A, C, E – all great for skin – so eat, too!
Works Inside & Out!
Antibacterial & Antiseptic: beat bacteria behind your blemishes!
Solution: Apple Cider Vinegar Toner!
1 part apple cider vinegar & 2 parts H20
Restores skin to proper pH
Malic & Latic Acid: reduces redness, exfoliates skin & clears acne. Acne isn't just for kids. Everyone gets it and you can use this as a toner all over the body. The key there is the antibacterial and antiseptic properties. It's a natural acid and it's changing the pH and getting into the pores and when the pores get clogged, it causes acne and this will help clear it out.
