Alia explains that if you can’t find canned cherry tomatoes, you can use plum tomatoes, instead. When you flavor the lentils with additional blended vegetables and garlic, you add another layer of flavor, as well as soffrito. Alia also says you can add meat to the dish, if that is what you are craving.
