Star Anise Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake

Pastry chef and author of “Delightful Desserts,” Jane Soudah is making a delicious dessert in the kitchen. She recommends using fresh dates, make sure they are soft and chop them up. If the dates still need softening, add baking soda to cooked date mixture. If you have leftover sauce, save it to add as a topping to vanilla ice cream.
