Ornament Cupcakes

Ornament Cupcakes

Victoria Parsons is making some festive cupcakes with decorative fondant.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose Flour
  • 1 ⅓ cups granulated sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp Ground allspice
  • 1 tsp. Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp Ground cloves
  • 1 10-¾ ounce can tomato soup
  • ½ cup shortening
Ingredients and Materials for Decorating
  • A small rolling pin
  • Small container of xmas sprinkles
  • Luster dust in pearl
  • Gold dust
  • 2 Small paint brushes
  • Vodka (to mix with the gold)
  • Cornstarch
  • 3, 4, 5inch round cookie cutters 1 of each ( not sure which size I'll need to cut the fondant)
  • Few pieces of thin spaghetti
  • Some disposable pastry bags 16"

Directions for Cupcakes

Heat oven to 350°

Stir flour, sugar, baking powder, allspice, baking soda, cinnamon & cloves in a large bowl. Add soup, shortening, eggs & water. Beat with mixer on low until blended. Then beat on high for 4 minutes

Fill cupcake tin about 3/4 bake for about 25-35 minutes until done

Directions for Decorating

As far as how to decorate the cupcakes

Roll out some white fondant about 1/4 thick and use a small star cutter to cut out what will be the part that you would hang the ornaments on the tree with

Paint them gold and set them aside to dry a little (You can do that part a day ahead)

Put a small amount of frosting

On top of the cupcakes then roll out the fondant, impress my design on it cut out the circles and place them over the frosted cupcake tops smooth it a little so it covers the whole top then is the luster dust to make them sparkly
