A graduate of the Juilliard School’s Drama Division, Luke Macfarlane can currently be seen as one of the leads of the Syfy series “Killjoys” and also in the PBS/Scott Free historical, Civil War medical drama, “Mercy Street.” Macfarlane also recurs on the NBC series “The Night Shift.” Earlier this year, Macfarlane starred in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “The Birthday Wish,” and in 2016 starred in the Hallmark Channel Original Movie “The Mistletoe Promise” alongside Jaime King.
Macfarlane has appeared in several off-Broadway plays, including The Busy World is Hushed, Where Do We Live? and Juvenilia, and on Broadway in The Normal Heart, which won a Drama Desk award for best ensemble. He made his feature film debut in Bill Condon’s Kinsey. Additional TV credits include “Smash,” “Person of Interest,” FX’s “Over There,” “Supergirl” and Robert Altman’s “Tanner and Tanner.”
Macfarlane is best known for his starring role as Scotty on ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters.” He returned to the theater in the world premiere of Reverberations at Hartford Stage. Additional regional theater credits include the one-person show Sam Bendrix at The Bon Soir at the Pittsburgh City Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse, and the DC’s Arena stages remount of The Normal Heart.
